Group Therapy

Group therapy can be a powerful tool improving and strengthening your interpersonal relationships. Whether you're dealing with depression, loss, abuse, or rejection, the support of people who may be experiencing similar issues can have a profound impact on your well-being.

Participants in group therapy often feel less isolated by their problems, while also getting the chance to practice new behaviors in real time with their fellow group members.

This makes group therapy both an optimal supplement alternative to individual therapy.A group may range between 5-15 people, with one or more therapists facilitating the group.

Group therapy will allow you to apply the skills of individual therapy, such as awareness of feelings and where they come from, within the group. Your therapist(s) and other group members may also help you identify patterns you’re not aware of, leading to more honest and authentic exchanges.

These changes, combined with the support of the group, often lead to decreased anxiety, depression, anger, and distress.

If you feel you’re ready to begin your mental health journey, the first step is to contact Foundations Counseling Center by phone at (256)-497-1790 or online to discuss the type of therapy (individual, family, or group) you are seeking.
