Individual Therapy
Individual therapy is designed to help you find healthy ways to deal with your problems and learn to enjoy your life more fully.

Individual therapy is tailored to fit each client's specific needs. It is the foundation of our treatment model.
Your therapist will guide you as you explore the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that may be keeping you from a happier life. In therapy, the client and their therapist work together to identify the client's goals and the issues they face which may keep them from reaching those goals. They will collaborate to make a treatment plan and, from there, they work together to carry out that plan. Insurance typically covers individual therapy, and information disclosed to a therapist by a client is legally protected from disclosure.
Individual therapy is often referred to as psychotherapy or counseling. While we do offer psychiatric evaluation and medication management services, therapy is a separate service. Some of our clients may or may not also use medication to treat their issues as medication can be helpful in addition to therapy. Therapy can be short-term or long-term and is tailored to meet each specific client's needs. We see clients who are facing all types of issues, some of the most common include:
Trauma/PTSD
Anxiety
Depression
ADHD
Grief
Mood and personality disorders
Life/career transition
Addiction
An intake appointment for individual therapy lasts approximately one hour. Follow-up sessions are typically an hour, but can be as short as 45 or 30 minutes if that is more appropriate for a client. Normally, clients are seen weekly or biweekly (as appropriate) until their issue is resolved.
